SLC Scholarship
Student Leadership Council Scholarship
The Student Leadership Council offers a $500 scholarship annually to one of our excellent senior members of the Student Leadership Council who demonstrates outstanding leadership qualities. The seniors use an on-line application to convey to the Foundation Board members about their extracurricular activities, goals and favorite memories from high school and SLC. The Foundation Board blindly selects the recipient each year.
Applications are generally open in the Spring. Check back for 2027 application information.
Anika Thatte, 2026 SLC Scholarship Receipient
Each year, SLC gives away one scholarship to a member who exhibits the quality of a leader and has excelled in learning within the SLC and Walton community. This year's recipient is a young woman who has been instrumental in every aspect of SLC. Anitka Thatte, Congratulations to you on being named the receipient of the 2026 SLC Scholarship. It has been a joy serving alongside you. Wishing you all the best as you continue your academic studies at Georgia Tech.

2022
The Foundation’s Student Leadership Council (SLC) celebrated one of its seniors at Walton’s Honors Night. Ethan Bryan, president of SLC, has served this club, its community and its projects tirelessly. His exemplary leadership skills were recognized with the Student Leadership Council Scholarship. Ethan is headed to Babson College next year and we are confident he will accomplish great things! Best of luck Ethan.
2021
Congratulations to Marley Burrows for winning the Walton High School Foundation’s Student Leadership Council Scholarship. Marley is headed to Florida A & M next year to study computer science. We wish Marley all the best in her future endeavors and thank her for her contributions to the Student Leadership Council over the years.
2020
The 2019-20 Student Leadership Council Scholarship winner is Carly Judenberg. Carly has been a very active member of SLC all four years of high school. She is headed to UGA in the fall. We wish Carly all the best in her future endeavors.
2018
Congratulations to Sajan Patel – the WHS Foundation Scholarship recipient!!! The Foundation awards a $500 scholarship to a senior member of the Student Leadership Council who has demonstrated outstanding leadership characteristics.
Sajan demonstrates leadership characteristics through his involvement in the Student Leadership Council, Habitat for Humanity, National Honor Society, Boy Scouts and others. He serves as a mentor and role model by going to an elementary school each week to help children with academics and play games. He mentioned that when he walks into the school, he smiles because they smile. In addition, he is an Eagle Scout and is helping other scouts accomplish their goals.
As co-president of the SLC, he was part of delivering successful school events such as movie night, Junior Achievement Day and the Homecoming Dance. He plans to attend the University of Georgia this fall.
